RISCPoint Announces Apprenticeship Program

RISCPoint is excited to announce the commencement of the RISCPoint Apprenticeship Program along with the hiring of our first apprentice, Michael Wilson. The program is designed to create value with long-term, exponential dividends for the participants, the company and the industry as a whole.

Michael is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Cybersecurity at the University of Tampa with an expected graduation date of May 2021. In addition to his core studies he has also been an active member of the leadership team for the UT Investment Banking Society, the Coding / Dev Ops Club, and the Cybersecurity Club. Beyond his academic pursuits he is a Cross Country athlete and a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

The RISCPoint Apprenticeship Program is designed to couple active mentoring and instruction with real world client work. We believe this is a crucial next step in the career development of Compliance and Cybersecurity professionals.

Each apprentice’s over-all program is overseen by one of our senior consultants while they are given opportunities to work across various practice specialties with the respective practice leaders. This gives them the ability to gain holistic exposure across multiple disciplines to shore up areas of weakness and to emphasize areas of strength in developing them into a well-rounded professional. It also allows them to build an area of interest on a long-term specialty.

In addition to being a program that we believe will be a key driver for employee growth and community investment the program is also one that our founder, Jacob Nix has a particular passion for.
